چکیده

Lel G be a graph with vertex connectivi2y k(G). An important measure of the fault tolerance of G is its faul&diameler df(G), which is defined as the maximum diameter resulting from the deletion of any set of nodes containing less than k(G) nodes. The robustness of G is often measured by comparing d/(G) with the diameter of Ihe fault-free G, namely d(G). In particular, a family of graphs G, is dubbed strongly resilient if df(G”) 5 d(Gn) + c, where c is a fixed constant independent of n. This paper derives the fault-diameter of Ihe starconnected cycles (SCC) inlerconnection network. We show that the SCC,, graph is strongly resilient, exhibiting a fault-diameter of df(SCC3) = d(SCC3) + 4, df (SC&) = d( SCC,)+S, and df (SCC,,) = d( SC&)+ 1, for n > 5.

Fault diameters of graph products and bundles

Fault tolerance and transmission delay of networks are important concepts in network design. The notions are strongly related to connectivity and diameter of a graph, and have been studied by many authors. Wide diameter of a graph combines studying connectivity with the diameter of a graph. Diameter with width k of a graph G is defined as the minimum integer d for which there exist at least k i...

Shuffle-Ring: A New Constant-Degree Network

The hypercube as a parallel interconnection network has been of academic and engineering concern for tens of years due to its many merits. However, its increasing node degree is an obvious weakness. Some networks such as the cube-connected cycles (CCC) and the de Bruijn network have been proposed to overcome the increasing degree of the hypercube. In this paper, we present a new cost-effective ...

Fault-tolerant maximal local-connectivity on Bubble-sort star graphs

An interconnection network is usually modeled as a graph, in which vertices and edges correspond to processor and communication links, respectively. Connectivity is an important measurement for the fault tolerant in interconnection network. Two vertices is maximally local-connected if the maximum number of internally vertex-disjoint paths between them equals the minimum degree of these two vert...

Periodically Regular Chordal Rings

ÐChordal rings have been proposed in the past as networks that combine the simple routing framework of rings with the lower diameter, wider bisection, and higher resilience of other architectures. Virtually all proposed chordal ring networks are nodesymmetric, i.e., all nodes have the same in/out degree and interconnection pattern. Unfortunately, such regular chordal rings are not scalable. In ...

Edge fault - diameter of graph product ∗

The product graph B ∗ F of graphs B and F is an interesting model in the design of large reliable networks. Let G be a kG-edge connected graph and DE c (G) be the largest diameter of subgraphs of G obtained by deleting c < kG edges. We prove that DE a+b+1(B ? F ) ≤ DE a (F ) +DE b (B) + 1 where a < kF , and b < kB . Key–Words: product graph, edge-connectivity, edge fault-diameter, reliable inte...
